Site Work
The project consists of a new six-story, 3.8 million square foot Amazon Fulfillment Center that will be a state-of-the-art Amazon Robotics Sortable Fulfillment Center that will be the biggest on the eastern part of the United States. The structure will be located on approximately one hundred and ninety-five acres of land. The facility will employ about 1,500 full time workers and have the capacity of loading and unloading of up to 300 to 400 trailers per day for distribution of products. The building is expected to be completed by March 2023.
Baystate Blasting Inc. (BBI) was Contracted to perform drilling & blasting services to remove bedrock of up to 45 feet deep for this Amazon Fulfillment Center and the access roads to the building in Johnston, RI. BBI is scheduled to blast approximately 800,000 cubic yards of rock within a tight project schedule.
